Illusion

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

To tell oneself that it will not be one’s turn to do the work.

To let things carry on with what it is, hoping against hope that everything will righten itself.

Well, things looked alrite from the surface. But deep down, there lies the biggest problem.

Somethings when things needs to be done right, it requires one to do it personally. Despite the fact that one would deprive others from the experience.

But is a deprivation of experience is better than a screwed up job?

Think. Figure. Ponder.

That set of responsiblities and trust. Its easy to break it, isn’t it?

Old days

Monday, August 21st, 2006

It was dyed orange by the ceiling lights. The noise of the party was drowning at first, but eventually got accustomed to it. Smoothly blending into the surroundings. Slowly but surely, it died out. A motionless whisper.

Climbed up the stairs and looked up to see his face. A face that was not seen since the ceremony where our certs were issued. At that time, he was still unaware of how high he will fly. He noticed and he says the usual greeting. Resisting the temptation to run up, jaye appears at his sides. How can one forget the 4 sisters? not a year too old, not a year too young. They look picture perfect, almost life like models out of a fasion magazine.

Black gothic was the theme. Tuxedo was on him. Handsome did not begin to describe him. Walking up the stairs to feel the familiar vibration in my feet. 2 Figures flash by. Hurling friendly insults at each other. He does not seem to give up on his quest. They wave a greeting as they flash by, drawing attention to themselves and disrupting some others.

Walking up the stairs to find a plasma TV flanked by two tall standing lights that dyed the TV set a even deeper shade of orange. What was on the TV? Motion looks familiar, but memory does not betray its identy. Taking a glass of liquid from the table near by, a toast to the room went unnoticed. Everyone is too engrossed in recalling old times and what happened to them when they branched out from the ending of the path which we trod on together. Sometimes the individual paths cross each other. Sometimes the individual paths ended before others. Sometimes the individual paths led astray, lost in the horizon, only to return later down the road to cross all of us.

We left the path that had handrails to guide us. We left each other to seek a new path in the unknown. We left our memories in each other to draw strength and confidence from. We left an impact in one way or another.

But what matters most was that everyone was in that room together. Doing the things that we did for 2 years in a row. Doing our best to survive the harsh environment and at the same time, enjoy life, for what is life if it cannot be enjoyed?

What matters all was that everyone was together again. Recalling a saying that says when one life flashes infront of his/her eyes… A sudden truth emerged and dawned upon.

I had died.

Bolted up when the fact was reaslied - Heart thumping, head spinning, Painful, but reliefing. Was it today? or was it not to come for another few decades?

I saw something that i would not mind. Not now though. But hopefully in a long long way to come.

For pain is the only indication that we are truely alive, isn’t it not?

Wake up early and breathe in some fresh air…

For we never know when we cannot do so anymore.

We are paying back the consequences that we refused to foresee when we did our actions. Unrelated unprofessional behaviour. Defense character. Inflexible. Refusal to take critisms constructively. Why did we blind ourselves to the obvious truth that was staring at us in the face?

Ancient times made history so that we can learn from it.

Present times make mistakes so that we can learn from it.

Future times? don’t ask me. I’m not even there yet..
